Check and Credit Card Fraud
Community Service Officers are available to meet with business owners and their
employees to discuss check and credit card fraud. Information obtained from
fraud investigators is utilized in hopes of protecting business owner from this sort
of criminal activity. Trend analysis is also used.

Business Crime Watch
Business Crime Watch is a cooperative effort between business owners and the
police. Community Service Officers are available to facilitate meetings of
business owners to improve communications and to provide education regarding crime prevention topics. Business Crime Watch groups are generally organized along geographical lines. To schedule a Business Crime Watch meeting, please contact Officer Jeff Welch at 972-771-7765.

Business Security Survey
Community Service Officers are available to meet with business owners to conduct a security survey. Items surveyed include locks, lighting, landscaping and alarms. The surveying officer will make realistic recommendations to the business owner to reduce their chances of becoming a crime victim. The City’s purchasing office uses several means of soliciting competitive prices for most goods, materials, supplies and services. It is the vendor’s responsibility to contact the City’s Purchasing Agent for any information regarding the bidding process and items coming up for competitive bid, whether it be for informal price quotations or sealed bids items.

During the November 1995 election, Rockwall voters approved the adoption of a half-cent sales tax for the promotion and development of new and expanding businesses in Rockwall. As a result, the Rockwall Economic Development Corporation was founded on July 25, 1996. Since its inception, the Rockwall Economic Development Corporation has provided new businesses as well as existing Rockwall businesses with site locations, incentives, and other economic assistance.

CCCCD offers both day and evening classes at the Higher Education Center at Rockwall, housed at the Rockwall ISD Administration/Education Center. Community members may access many of the college's award-winning programs and professors.
